Description

Service Procedure:

Disassembly
• Remove the M4x0.7x8mm screws securing the collar ring, then remove the ring.
• Carefully slide down the collar body to expose the internal locking mechanism.
• Remove the 3 locking bars.
• Extract the return springs from the main body.
Cleaning
• Thoroughly clean all components using a non-corrosive solvent or cleaner (Acetone, Brake
Cleaner etc).
• Ensure all debris, grease, and contaminants are completely removed from all surfaces
Reassembly
• MPI recommends replacing the springs, locking bars, and screws with new components
available from MPI.
• ⚠ MPI QR RX is a dry part. No lubricants of any form should be applied to the spline,
internal body, or bars.
• Place the springs back into their designated locations inside the main quick release body.
• Reinstall the collar body, ensuring the springs are properly seated and the collar moves freely up
and down.
• While pressing down the collar body, reinsert the 3 locking bars in their correct positions.
• Confirm the collar body is securely retained by the bars and operates without resistance.
• Reinstall the collar ring using new M4 M4x0.7x8mm screws.
• Apply Blue Loctite® to each screw. ⚠ Use only a minimal amount to prevent contamination
inside the collar assembly.
• Torque screws to 20–26 in-lbs in accordance with the official installation bulletin( see below )
• Paint-mark each screw head to confirm torque has been applied and verified.
